Why we are building it
Powerful media players often make simple playback feel technical, while streaming apps are designed around catalogues and recommendations. Kymelo takes a different route: a clear library, direct controls, useful subtitles and a player that gets out of the way.
Our principles
- Local first. Opening a local file should not require an account or upload.
- Honest choices. Online features and their data use should be explained.
- Accessible controls. Keyboard, pointer and touch interactions should be predictable.
- Respect for ownership. Kymelo plays media you are authorised to access; it does not provide films, shows or channels.
Where we are now
Kymelo is in active beta development. Windows is the first desktop release and Android testing follows through Google Play. Features and compatibility will continue to change as feedback arrives.
